Turns out he was an emissary of someone named Lady Wachter, who wanted to invite us to dinner. Lo noticed him back, and approached him to introduce herself.
However, in the crowd we were spotted by a strange individual who seemed to recognize Castagire, Kamaria and Lo (our druid). Paired with a successful persuasion check, he was able to disperse the crowd and cause them to leave in peace I was very proud of the player for delivering something so profound! Normally, Castagire tends to put his foot in his mouth whenever he speaks, but his speech to the town really did come through as a moment of leadership. It turns out that there were no vampires the citizens had simply learned about what had happened in the town of Barovia, and assumed there might be a vampire here as well.Ĭastagire was able to actually calm the crowd by giving a very good speech. Castagire stepped in and slipped into the church alone, to find out what was going on. As we began to make our plan, we saw a small crowd pounding on the doors to the church, claiming there were vampires inside. We made our way to Vallaki, and decided to steal the wedding dress from the burgomaster rather than try to negotiate again. We know what happens when the curse is allowed to run its course, of course… Fortunately, our party members were able to kill the heads, and Kamaria was able to remove the curse. The vargouilles kissed us, and Kamaria and Shlerpa failed the saving throws and became cursed. The vargouilles then targeted three of us: Castagire, the human paladin Kamaria Jericho, my wood elf cleric and Shlerpa, the guest character played by our friend Daniel (not Daniel Fernandez). The vargouilles shrieked, and several of us failed the saving throw and became stunned.
